The President of Uzbekistan discussed the prospects for expanding cooperation with European businesses

As part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum and the meeting of the Foreign Investors Council, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the heads of a number of leading European companies such as Standard Chartered, International Hospitals Group, LVMH, and Airbus.
The Head of our State stressed that the increase in the number of participants from European countries testifies to the mutual interest of the parties in expanding economic and investment cooperation.
The growth of trade turnover, the number of joint ventures and the investment portfolio with European countries was noted with satisfaction.
Active cultural, humanitarian, educational and tourist exchanges have been established. Prospects for expanding partnership in financing small businesses and infrastructure projects, as well as the development of new credit lines by banks in Uzbekistan, were discussed with the head of Standard Chartered, Saif Malik.
Plans for the construction of a clinic, as well as management of multidisciplinary medical centers in Uzbekistan based on public-private partnership were discussed with the Chairman of the Board of International Hospitals Group, Chester King.
The importance of speeding up the opening of LVMH's flagship store in Tashkent City was noted.
The possibilities of including Uzbek silk producers and natural ingredients in the company's supply chain were also discussed.
In a conversation with Airbus President for Europe, Johan Pelissier, special attention was paid to the prospects for expanding partnership in the field of aviation.
The importance of adopting a long-term Cooperation Program was emphasized.
The heads of European companies thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and favorable conditions for foreign investors in our country.
They expressed their willingness to continue participating in the implementation of important projects and programs in priority sectors of the economy.
