Effective meetings and negotiations: The path to successful cooperation and agreements
The visit program of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to New York participating in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly has ended.
In the closing days, on the margins of the session, bilateral meetings were held with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the following countries: Austria, Botswana, Russia, Kuwait, Liberia, Togo, Belarus, Cyprus, Finland, Nicaragua, Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Czech Republic, Brazil, Croatia, Azerbaijan, UAE, Indonesia, India.
Minister B.Saidov also held a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
At the meetings, issues of developing and strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, schedules of upcoming events in various formats, current topics on the regional and global agenda, and much more were discussed.
Following the meetings, the following documents were signed:
- Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria for 2024-2026;
- Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Botswana;
- Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Liberia;
- Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Togo;
- Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia on the establishment of a Committee for Bilateral Consultations.
Minister B.Saidov took part in high-level panel discussions titled "Promoting Peaceful and Inclusive Societies for Sustainable Development through Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue" organized by the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
During the C5+1 Ministerial Meeting of Central Asia and the USA, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in his speech emphasized the importance of efforts to expand economic interaction, support sustainable development, strengthen transport and logistics connectivity, and promote peace and prosperity in the region. Special attention is paid to joint efforts to mitigate the consequences of environmental changes.
