Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkiye is developing
On September 4, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Nuh Yilmaz, who arrived in Tashkent. The parties discussed the current issues of dynamically developing Uzbekistan-Turkiye relations, the progress of joint programs implementation, prospects for intensifying political dialogue, trade and investment ties, cultural, humanitarian and tourist exchanges.
Another round of political consultations also took place between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkiye chaired by Deputy Foreign Ministers with the participation of representatives from different government agencies.
Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the 3rd meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council at the highest level, held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Presidents of the two States in June 2024.
The parties noted the importance of further expanding the contractual and legal framework of relations, taking into account developing ties in all areas.
The issues of strengthening cooperation within the framework of multilateral structures, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Turkic States, were discussed.
