Prospects for further development of Uzbekistan-China cooperation were discussed
On April 16, 2024, the eighth meeting of the Subcommittee on Security Cooperation of Uzbekistan-China Intergovernmental Committee and political consultations between the Foreign Ministries took place in Beijing.
The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Secretary of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Sun Weidong.
During the negotiations, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for further development of Uzbekistan-China cooperation. Particular attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of agreements reached following the state visit to China in 2024.
The Chinese side highly appreciated the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at improving public administration and the legislative spheres, liberalizing and modernizing the national economy.
The parties confirmed mutual interest in realizing the existing significant potential towards strengthening partnerships in the political, trade, economic, investment, military, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Proposals to increase cultural, humanitarian, and tourist exchanges were considered.
Special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing interaction of both sides within the UN and other international institutions. The delegations also had an exchange on the topics of regional and international agendas.
