On March 27, 2024, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adriaen.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU in the framework of the implementation of educational programs in Uzbekistan for Afghan citizens, especially for youth.

The sides noted the need to continue providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, who are faced with difficult socio-economic conditions.

EU's commitment to continue close cooperation with Uzbekistan on the Afghan issue, as well as in safeguarding regional security was emphasized.
