Uzbekistan is strengthening its position as a safe and open tourist destination
By the end of 2025, Uzbekistan is demonstrating steady and dynamic growth in the tourism industry. Almost 12 million foreign tourists visited the country, which is 16% more than in the previous year. The export of tourist services exceeded 4.8 billion US dollars, which confirms the growing international interest in Uzbekistan and the strengthening of its position as one of the most promising tourist destinations in the region.
These results have become possible thanks to consistent reforms in the tourism sector aimed at improving infrastructure, developing transport accessibility, digitalizing services and creating favorable conditions for travelers. The country is actively implementing projects to develop tourism clusters, improve the quality of service and expand international cooperation.
The Republic has introduced a simplified entry procedure for foreign citizens, in particular, visa-free entry for citizens of 94 foreign countries, electronic entry visa for 52 countries and five-day transit visa-free entry for 45 countries is currently established.
Against the background of the current geopolitical instability in a number of regions of the world, including the holding of mass actions and demonstrations in individual countries, the factor of safety and comfortable stay of tourists is becoming increasingly important. In this context, Uzbekistan retains the status of a stable, safe and hospitable state, open to all guests regardless of their nationality and religion.
Traditions of respect, tolerance and sincere hospitality are an integral part of the culture of the Uzbek people. International ratings confirm the high level of security in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan has consistently held leading positions in global security indexes over the past few years. In particular, according to the International SOS Risk Map, the country is classified as a Low Risk destination, which puts it on a par with a number of European countries in terms of overall security. According to the Numbeo Safety Index, Uzbekistan ranks 25th among 148 countries in the world, demonstrating a consistently low crime rate. In addition, the “Solo Female Travel Safety Index” and “Safety Perceptions Index” rankings Uzbekistan took the 1st place in the world, having received one of the highest safety indicators for independent travel of women.
Additionally, according to the Gallup Global Law and Order Index, the country was also among the world leaders in terms of public safety and trust in law and order. Together, these assessments form a stable international image of Uzbekistan as a safe, stable and comfortable destination for tourists. Today, Uzbekistan offers tourists not only the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Great Silk Road, but also modern infrastructure, comfortable conditions and an atmosphere of openness.
