On June 23, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Minister for Energy Transition and Transformation of Water Resources Fadillah bin Yusuf.
A representative delegation from Malaysia is on an official visit to our country to hold bilateral talks and participate in the events of the United Nations Civil Service Forum in Samarkand. At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah bin Yusuf conveyed to the Head of our state the sincere greetings and best wishes of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Malaysian multifaceted relations in the context of the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level visit to Kuala Lumpur in February this year were discussed.
The intensification of contacts, visits and exchanges at various levels was noted with great satisfaction.
Since the beginning of the year, the trade turnover has grown by 25 percent.
The number of joint ventures and the frequency of flights have increased. A business forum will be held tomorrow with the participation of leading companies from the two countries.
The importance of unlocking the existing potential of economic cooperation and actively promoting cooperation projects in the fields of trade, innovation, green energy, oil and gas and chemical industries, geology, water resources management, electronics and semiconductor industry, healthcare, training, development of pilgrimage tourism and other priority areas was emphasized.
