On April 13, 2023, in Samarkand, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergei Lebedev.

The parties discussed various aspects of Uzbekistan's interaction with the CIS and issues of preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth in Samarkand.
