The Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan has published the Investment Guide Uzbekistan (“https://mift.uz/en/investp”). The guide provides the latest information and comprehensive insight for potential investors and business communities more broadly on ongoing economic reforms, business opportunities in various sectors of the country, and enhanced investment climate and transparency to assist them in making sound investment decisions. This publication was created with the technical and financial assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and technical advisory from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The Uzbekistan's Investment Guide was first released in English during the first Tashkent International Investment Forum, which took place on March 24-26, 2022. Since that time, the guide has been translated into Russian and Japanese languages and updated with the recent statistical data and additional information. The guide introduces five reasons to invest in Uzbekistan and provides the overview of advantages investing in Uzbekistan in terms of economic growth and stability, ongoing reforms for an open economy, large domestic markets with a 35 million population, young and well-educated workforce, and abundant and diverse natural resources.
The Investment Guide Uzbekistan highlights major sectors of the economy to help investors in discovering untapped sectoral opportunities and various incentives provided for foreign investors. It also introduces the investment cycle and options from establishing a business to Public-Private Partnerships and privatization of state-owned enterprises, as well as legal, tax, customs and labor matters.
